A family vacation provides the valuable opportunity to discover new places together and immerse yourself in new experiences, all while creating unforgettable memories.
From family cruises filled with activities for guests of all ages to getaways to vibrant, iconic cities that your kids will never forget, the opportunities for adventure are endless!
Here are the top five reasons you should book your next family vacation:
1. Vacations promote family bonding. Spend some quality time on vacation, and get away from all the distractions of daily life!
2. Travel makes your kids smarter! Give your kids firsthand experience of other people’s cultures. They taste the food others eat, encounter other languages, and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of new and exciting destinations.
3. Vacations give time for everyone to recharge. Vacations reduce stress for every member of the family!
4. Vacations build memories to last a lifetime! What makes a vacation is the memories your family creates together. The positive impact of a family vacation extends far beyond the experience itself!
5. Experiences are more valuable than things! What better gift to give your child than the gift of travel.
When we got married and started having kids, I made it a rule that we would always chip something away to do fun things. It started with local season passes to Legoland, that we went several times a month and visiting Disneyland once a year as we were also close to that. When we left California, we started adding in Disneyworld, and other local theme parks. Our family preference isn't to go boating and camping, but instead hit up theme parks and cruises where we could indulge in amazing food.
Since my husband was active duty military for the first 12 years of our marriage, I understood that life is short and things can happen and change in an instant. It was crucial to build those adventurous foundations at the beginning and to take those vacation days. There are always way to make it happen. It is also why I always plan our trips a year in advance, that way I can spread out the cost into smaller more manageable chunks.
Now that the kids are older, our vacations are getting a little more broader and we are venturing out to further lands. The world has such amazing beauty to experience, and I can't wait to share it with them.
