One of our favorite things about taking a Disney Cruise is their private island in The Bahamas. It truly is an oasis of calm, relaxation and fun with something for everyone to enjoy. From the private adult only beaches to the kids club and everything in between. It is serene with breathtaking views. Disney works hard at maintaining the island to near perfection. This includes a rotating staff that lives on the island full time to the staff from the ship that disembark first to help get things ready and to man all the food and drink stands you could ever need.
The first set of beaches you encounter are the "Family Beaches" where all are welcome and towards the end of the island are the adult only "Serenity Beaches", even the teens have their own place to hang out.
Towels are provided when you depart the ship with a return station before re-entrance to the ship. There is a Tram that can take you throughout the island, or you can walk the path at your own pace. Even before the Covid pandemic, Disney had a strict rule of hand sanitation prior to returning to the ship. And I am sure once the sailings do return, there will be even more health and safety protocols in place.
The staff set up a massive lunch that is all included in your sailing fee, along with many other snack options. The only things you would pay for on the island are liquor, specialty drinks, souvenirs, rentals and excursions. No cash needed on the island, you will just scan your Key to the World card and all charges are added to your room just like on the ship. The only thing you would need cash for on the island is if you wanted to mail a postcard from The Bahamas run post office - small bills only!
There is even a small 5K marathon you can sign up for that runs first thing when docked. I made my husband participate so we would have the medal :)
